Assemble at the airport and depart for Zurich, financial metropolis of Switzerland.
Upon your arrival, embark on an orientation tour of Lucerne. Visit the Old Chapel Bridge – the oldest wooden bridge in Switzerland, Old Town Lucerne with its unspoiled buildings covered with colourful murals and the Lion Monument. Then, make your way to the Glacier Garden Museum, where you will travel back in time to get a glimpse at the glaciers and kettle basins dating from the Ice Age.
This morning, begin with a boat ride on Lake Lucerne to Vitznau. Modern motor boats and nostalgic steamboats bring you over the incredible, fjord-like water to Vitznau. Thereafter hop on the cogwheel train ascend to 1,797 meters above sea level – Rigi Kulm is the highest peak of Mount Rigi. Enjoy fantastic views of the Swiss Plateau, the Black Forest, the Vosges Mountains, and the Alps awaits from the Queen of the Mountains. Afterward, you will then travel to the heart of Switzerland to Interlaken for overnight.
Starting from Interlaken, you will first journey along Lake Thun and before going through Simmen Valley to Zweisimmen. Here, the GoldenPass Panoramic route takes over, running past magnificent castles and peacefully grazing cattle to finally leave the German-speaking part of Switzerland to the French-speaking region. On the last leg, the train winds its way through the hills and valley before arriving at Montreux. Optional: Jungfraujoch – ''Top of Europe''
Today paying a visit to the 1000-yearold Chillon Castle – an oval shaped masterpiece positioned on a small, rocky outcrop that pokes into Lake Geneva. Your journey continue as the train follows along the banks of Lake Geneva, passing orchards and vineyards in Lower Valais to go as far as Visp. Here, you will change over to the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway and in the next hour, traverse through Switzerland’s deepest valley to the Matterhorn village of Zermatt. Upon reaching the station, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the world’s most iconic mountain peak, the magnificent Matterhorn. Note: Zermatt will be replaced by Brig, if hotel is not available.
After breakfast, you will board the world’s first fully electrified cog railway – the Gornergrat Bahn – which starts from the village centre in Zermatt, go through verdant forests and lovely meadows and up to the Gornergrat (3,089m) for the finest views of the Matterhorn. The observation platform at 3131 meters offers commanding views of 29 summits over 4000-meters high. Afterwards, continue your journey to Riffelsee Lake, a charming mountain lake that is situated 5 minutes from the cable car station. The placid waters of the lake reflect the majestic and jagged Matterhorn. From there you will visit the Matterhorn Museum, a culturalnatural museum, which offers a deeper insight into the history and development of Zermatt.
Get set for an incredible ride onboard the Glacier Express – the world’s most famous panorama train. The ride travels across the Alps and connects fashionable Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn with the equally sophisticated St. Moritz. On the 8-hourjourney through the mountainous Cantons of Valais, Uri and Grisons, the train dives through 91 tunnels and chugs across 291 bridges. Be treated to unobstructed views of an imposing mountainscape, deep ravines and picturesque valleys – all from the comfort of the cabin. You will then enjoy a three-course lunch onboard the train. Soon, you will arrive in St Moritz, where you will spend the night. Note: St Moritz will be replaced by Davos if hotel is not available. Sequence of itinerary may change without notice in adjustment to the popular demand of Glacier Express.
Today you will board the famous UNESCO World Heritage train, the Bernina Express. Admire the spectacular scenery on the world’s highest altitude railroad, as you pass through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges along the way, including the signature 65m-high Landwasser Viaduct. Spend the night in Chur, the oldest town in Switzerland which has a settlement history of over 5,000 years.
The train journey continues from Chur to St. Gallen. You will be visiting the Abbey Library of Saint Gall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where over 170,000 books and manuscripts are stored. After which, spend some time wandering this town that dates from the 7th century. Continue to Zurich, the lively city of Switzerland. Take a stroll down the Old Town and drop by Bahnhofstrasse, an exclusive shopping boulevard where you'll find your favourite luxury brands. Drop by the Swiss National Museum, one of the most prominent art museums that encompass the cultural history of Europe. Afterwards, we will undergo the requisite COVID-19 Test together as a group before transfer to Zurich Airport for overnight stay.
Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure till is time to transfer to the airport for your flight home.
We hope you enjoyed your vacation with our company and we look forward to seeing you again for your next trip.

Tour was great - well-planned and executed, and Darien was flexible enough to deal with changes on the fly while providing enough flexibility and also giving recommendations for each location as well. He also took care and often went the extra mile to ensure that the group was comfortable throughout the 10 days despite the packed schedule. Experience shows, and we enjoyed our trip!

We enjoyed our recent trip to Switzerland, thanks to our responsible tour manager Darien Tang, who always went the extra mile for us. Due to the unique approach of our tour (travelling on trains and public buses), we believe it couldn’t have been easy for Darien to lead the tour of 21 pax but he did it well ensuring we arrive at our destination. Even though we missed the connecting train en route to Montreux due to late train arrival at Interlaken, Darien was quick to resolve the issue.Darien also went over and above the itinerary by taking us on a walking tour around St Moritz and neighbouring villages Celerina and Pontresina. We greatly appreciate his effort in making our first holiday since the pandemic a memorable experience.

Recently, we joined a 11D Grand Train Tour of Switzerland. It was an amazing tour & we enjoyed ourselves very much. This is our second time travelling with EU holidays, we'll certainly join EU for more trips in the future. Special mention & kudos to our tour manager, Eddie Ong for his timely reminders, amiable company & looking out, checking on us & taking care of all of us so well. He makes sure everything was well organised, prepared & went smooth & rendered his help willingly throughout the tour. He's friendly, warm, approachable, responsible, knowledgeable; sharing & giving us alot of information, details on the background, history, doing commentary during our train rides & a good tour leader. Thanks a lot Eddie Ong & EU holidays! Looking forward for our next trip with EU holidays & Eddie Ong! PS. This tour would have been perfect if there had been a free day in Interlaken to spend time, explore the villages & do activities & 1 day for shopping@Zurich.Komala & Anu

Tour: 10D/7N Grand Train Tour Switzerland plus 2N Dubai Date: 1-12 October 2019 Tour Manager: Wang Jia Fu 2 years ago we travel with EU Tours to Norway and on the first day 10 of us were lost by the irresponsible tour guide. We are glad that we decided to give EU a second chance and met with a totally different experience and in spite of having my luggage broken on the first move by the train porters and in spite of the unappetizing food we had been given and despite the sun-tanned Glacier Express (aka Sunshine Express to us now).... we applaud the efforts and dedication of Wang Jiafu who really made the big difference and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We will like to have other opportunities to join Jiafu's led tours again. We truly believe that the tour manager really makes a huge impact on the success of the tour.
