Day 1

HOME - ZURICH (Meals on Board)

Assemble at the airport and depart for Zurich, the financial metropolis of Switzerland.
Day 2

ZURICH - LUCERNE (Dinner - Cordon Bleu)

Upon your arrival, embark on a walking tour of Zurich. Relish in the sights of the beautiful yet compact city as you take in the splendid architecture and the glittering sight of the turquoise lake. Stroll through the Old Town and drop by Bahnhofstrasse, an exclusive shopping boulevard where you’ll find your favourite luxury brands. Next, visit the National Museum Zurich, which shows Swiss history from its beginnings to present day. Thereafter, continue to Lucerne for overnight.
Day 3

LUCERNE (Breakfast)

This morning, ride a train to Vitznau. Hop on board the cogwheel train to ascend 1,797 metres above sea level to Rigi Kulm, the highest peak of Mount Rigi. Enjoy fantastic views of the Swiss Plateau, the Black Forest, the Vosges Mountains, and the Alps from the Queen of the Mountains. After which, take a boat ride on Lake Lucerne. Return to the 14th-century city of Lucerne to see its storybook wooden Old Chapel Bridge, baroque church, and sorrowful Lion Monument. Following that, make your way to Glacier Garden, where you will travel back in time for a glimpse of the glaciers and kettle basins dating from the Ice Age.
Day 4

LUCERNE- INTERLAKEN (Scenic ride: Luzern–Interlaken Express) (Breakfast, Dinner - Swiss Fondue Combo with Wine)

Set off on your panoramic journey on the Luzern – Interlaken Express, which connects two world-famous destinations. Bask in the incredible panoramas of the mountain scenery, beautiful lakes and thundering waterfalls that adorn the countryside along the way. Afterwards, go on a brief walk to Harderbahn valley station and hop on a funicular that will take you 1322m above sea level to the top - Harder Kulm, for spectacular views of the mountains and valleys of the Berner Oberland region. Note: Prior to the funicular operation date, the Harder Kulm will be replaced with Stanserhorn without prior notice.
Day 5

INTERLAKEN (Free day) (Breakfast)

Enjoy the free day exploring the beautiful surrounding mountain region at your own leisure. You may wish to take up our recommended optional trip to the “Top of Europe” on Jungfraujoch, where you will be blown away by some of the most amazing views of the alpine wonderland. Optional: Jungfraujoch
Day 6

INTERLAKEN - GSTAAD - MONTREUX (Scenic ride: GoldenPass Express) (Breakfast, Dinner - Seafood Pasta with Wine)

Set off from Interlaken as you travel along Lake Thun and pass through the Simmental Valley to Gstaad. Take a brief wander at this glitzy resort village before boarding the GoldenPass panoramic train. This well-known panoramic train whizzes past a beautiful cluster of rivers, clear mountain lakes and waterfalls in Switzerland. The trip comes to an end when the train arrives in Montreux, a town situated on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Day 7

MONTREUX - ZERMATT (Breakfast, Dinner - Swiss Rösti)

Board a Lake Steamer cruise from Montreux to Chillon. Relax on the boat and enjoy the spectacular scenes of the Swiss Riviera, admiring the numerous lakeside villages and a backdrop of beautiful mountains. Hop off to visit Chillon Castle, a splendid medieval fortress on the water, and learn about its history dating back to the 12th century. Continue your journey to the Matterhorn village of Zermatt. Note: Normal train ride will be replaced if specific cruise is not operated or under construction. Optional: Aletsch Glacier
Day 8

ZERMATT - GORNERGRAT - ZERMATT (Breakfast)

Board the world’s first fully electrified cog railway – the Gornergrat Bahn – which starts from the village centre in Zermatt. Go through verdant forests and lovely meadows as you make your way up to the Gornergrat, where you will have a superb vista of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and other snow-capped peaks rising above 4000m. Head to the Riffelsee Lake, the lake with the legendary mirror-image of the Matterhorn. Thereafter, visit the Matterhorn Museum, a cultural natural museum offering a deeper insight into the history and development of Zermatt.
Day 9

ZERMATT - CHUR - ZURICH (Scenic ride: Glacier Express) (Breakfast)

Get set for an incredible ride onboard the Glacier Express. The ride traverses across the Alps where you can enjoy unbeatable views through your panoramic windows. On this shorter section to Chur (4 hours), you may enjoy some light snacks at your seat while you feast your eyes upon the phenomenal sight of the Oberalp Pass and Rhine Gorge before arriving at Chur. The oldest city in Switzerland and a car-free mountain city in the heart of the Alps, Chur exudes a romantic charm through its lovely squares and corners, winding streets, alleys, and a lot of history. Journey to Zurich for the night.
Day 10

ZURICH - HOME (Breakfast)

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure till is time to transfer to the airport for your flight home.
Day 11

HOME SWEET HOME

Dear EU HolidaysRegards. I came back from Grand Train Tour Switzerland 11 day 8 nights trip hosted by Mr Tevin Sua. It was a first trip and holiday for me and my daughter. I would say it was fabulous. Tevin planned the time accordingly and it was well managed by him. He knows all nooks and corners of Switzerland. He was also helpful in providing accurate information at certain points. Though it was tiring but joyful trip. The only part that EU can improve more is the hotel stay. This can be centralised to minimise changing of hotels / luggage and also certain hotels are not of that standards. The rest is splendid. Thank you EU Holidays.

We are glad that we decided to give EU a second chance and met with a totally different experience and in spite of having my luggage broken on the first move by the train porters and in spite of the unappetizing food we had been given and despite the sun-tanned Glacier Express (aka Sunshine Express to us now).... we applaud the efforts and dedication of Wang Jiafu who really made the big difference and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We will like to have other opportunities to join Jiafu's led tours again. We truly believe that the tour manager really makes a huge impact on the success of the tour.
