Assemble at the airport and depart for Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland.
Welcome to Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland. Relish in the sights of the beautiful city, its architecture, and its turquoise lake. The world-renowned financial center draws millions of visitors to its picturesque compact city. Get to know more about this financial hub by visiting the Swiss National Museum. Also, visit the Clock and Watch Museum – which is home to one of the most important horological collections in the world and recounts the complete history of timekeeping from 1400 BC to the present day. Take a stroll down the old town and drop by Bahnhofstrasse, a shopping avenue selling luxury goods.
Start your day with a city tour of Lucerne. Visit the Old Chapel Bridge – the oldest- wooden bridge in Switzerland, Old Town Lucerne with its unspoiled buildings covered with colourful murals and the Lion Monument. Then, make your way to the Glacier Garden Museum, which was discovered in 1872. The site comprises of glacial potholes that date back to the Ice Age. Conclude your tour with a Lake Lucerne boat ride and explore the captivating sights of the city, before heading to your hotel for an overnight stay in Lucerne.
Today, you will transfer to Schilthorn. The 2970 m summit comes with Skyline View Platform that offers an unhindered view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau (UNESCO World Heritage) and on more than 200 other summits. If you’re feeling a little famished, you could also tuck into a scrumptious meal in the world’s first revolving restaurant, Piz Gloria. Featured in the 1969 James Bond movie, the Piz Gloria will complement your meal with panoramic sights of the mountains. Afterwards, make your way to Grindelwald, a famous village nestled in an ancient and unique Alpine landscape at the foot of the North face of the Eiger mountain. Tonight, treat yourself to a local swiss fare at the Michelin recom- mended restaurant.
Enjoy a free day of leisure shopping or sightseeing at your pleasure. You may wish to embark on an optional tour for a day filled with endless fun and activities as you board a specially designed Snow Bus for a comfortable ride up to Mt. Bussalp . Enjoy marvelous views of the Jungfrau snowy peaks as you sledge through the various obstacle courses on the 7.6km long sledge run; the longest in Europe. After which, take a scenic railway trip to Kleine Scheidegg mountain pass, a famous ski resort area, to admire the passing scenic valleys and the Glacier Falls, as well as the iconic peaks of Mt. Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. Optional: Sledging + Kleine Scheidegg (with Lunch
Spend your morning with an orientation tour of Bern. Explore its UNESCO World Heritage Old Town on foot and view the astronomical clock tower Zytglogge and the Einstein House. Conclude your night with a stay at the tranquil small village below Zermatt.
Begin your day with a visit to Zermatt, an old, idyllic village nestled in a deep valley enclosed between steep mountains, and situated right at the foot of the Matter- horn mountain. As a special, car-free place that is best explored on foot, Zermatt draws you in with its charming cobbled streets and lovely horse-drawn carriages – a scene straight out of a storybook. Take a scenic train ride to Gornergrat at 3089m. The views take in the Monte Rosa massif with Switzerland’s highest peak; the second largest glacier in the Alps, the Gorner Glacier; and a total of 29 mountains above 4,000 m, including, of course, the Matterhorn in all its glory. Then, enjoy some free time at your leisure to explore Zermatt.
Today you will board the Glacier Express to Chur, an Alpine city in Switzerland. The Glacier Express is an express train connecting railway stations from the east to the west of Switzerland. It is also referred to as the ‘slowest express train in the world’ and there is a good reason for this slow pace: the train squeezes its way through the Alps, through narrow valleys, tight curves, 91 tunnels, and across 291 bridges. Thereafter, you will transfer back to Zurich for an overnight stay. Please note that there will be no Glacier Express trains running between 15-10-2018 to 09-12-2018. Day 7 will be replaced as follows: TASCH →GENEVA→ZURICH
