DAY1

HOME - STOCKHOLM (Meals on Board)

Assemble at the airport and depart for Stockholm, the capital of Sweden that encompasses 14 islands and more than 50 bridges on an extensive Baltic Sea archipelago.

DAY 2

STOCKHOLM (Meals On Board, Dinner - Swedish Meatballs)

Kick off the day with a tour to Stockholm, which will bring you to the Stockholm City Hall. The three crowns perched atop the 106-meter-tall tower forms a silhouette that is instantly recognizable within the city. This romantic structure also hosts the prestigious Noble Prize banquets in its Blue and Golden Halls, with the latter featuring 18 million gold mosaic tiles. Continue to the Old Town to view the magnificent structures of the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. We will also visit the Vasa Museum, located in the Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged and is now the world’s only preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia. If time permits, you can consider an optional visit to the Drottningholm Palace, one of the Sweden’s Royal Palaces , which is situated on the island Lovon. Note: Should the main building of Stockholm City Hall be closed for conference, we will only stop for a photo of the exterior.

DAY 3

STOCKHOLM - KARLSTAD - HARMAR (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today depart to Karlstad, a city on the Klaralven River in Varmland Country, Sweden. It’s known for the neighbouring Lake Vanern to the south. The Old Stonebridge is the country’s longest Stonebridge and one of Karlstad’s most photographed locations. We will then cross the border to Sweden and arrive at Harmar for the night.

DAY 4

HARMAR - GEIRANGERFJORD - GEIRANGER (Breakfast, Dinner)

Drive along Ornevegen (“the Eagle Road“), name given to the steepest part of the road up the mountainside from Geiranger to Eidsdal, 620 metres above sea level. Here, the road twists through eleven hairpin bends as it climbs up to Stigrora, 858 metres above sea level. The road is carved into the mountain and supported by stone walls. An impressive bridge carries the road across the Stigfossen waterfall. On this road, even the bravest can feel the adrenaline pumping through their veins. The Trollstigen platform and two viewpoints are designed by Reiulf Ramstad Architects. From the top, well protected against the elements by steel and glass, you can see all the way down the mountainside. The structure is designed so that it blends in with the surroundings. Some parts are carved into the rock, whilst other parts are built on the stone walls. We will then take a scenic sightseeing cruise across the deep blue waters of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, Geirangerfjord. The fjord offers archetypal scenery, encircled by high mountains, where abandoned farms cling to the hillslides. The trip between Geiranger and Hellesylt takes in the Knivsfla Waterfalls, known as the Seven Sisters and Friaren (the Suitor). You will also sail close to the Brudesloret (Bridal Veil) falls. Along the Geirangerfjord, you will experience the very best of Norwegian nature, close up. Transfer to Geiranger for a night stay by the fjords. Note: Trollstigen platform will only be available subject to road conditions.

DAY 5

GEIRANGER - SOGNEFJORD (Breakfast, Dinner)

In the morning, consider an optional to take the Briksdal Troll Car at Briksdal and takes you to the stand about 700m away from the glacier. You will have a nice walk to the glacier, into the Jostedal Glacier national park, before the troll car takes you back to starting point again. Enroute to Sognefjord, make a photostop at the Kaupanger Stave Church, which has been in continuous use for more than 800 years, making it a great example of local culture, history and heritage. Arriving the Sognefjord region, you will embark on a 2-hour sightseeing cruise within Gudvangen and Flam on the pristine waters of Naerofjord and prepare to be blown away by the spectacular vistas displayed before your very eyes. Naerofjord, is the world’s narrowest fjord and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Transfer to Sognefjord for an overnight stay.

DAY 6

SOGNEFJORD - BERGEN (Breakfast, Dinner)

Today consider an optional train ride by the Flam Railway, and embark on the most incredible train journey where you will be treated to endless panoramas of placid rivers, deep ravines, cascading waterfalls, and mountain farms clinging precariously to snow-capped peaks. Then travel to Bergen, a large Norwegian city with a small-town charm. Your exploration begins with a Bergen city tour- soak up the sights and sounds of the bustling Fish Market in the heart of the city; wander along the narrow alleyways and step into the smorgasbord of shops and galleries in Bryggen; and take the Ulriken cable car to the highest of Bergen's seven mountains and enjoy the spectacular scenery and mountain terrain above the city streets. From the summit, you can enjoy magnificent views of Bergen and the surrounding area - the sea, the islands, fjords and mountains.

DAY 7

BERGEN - HARDANGERFJORD - GOL (Breakfast, Dinner)

We will move on today to the Hardangerfjord region, the second longest fjord in Norway. The Hardangerfjord in 179Km long and greatest depth is 900 meters. The definition of a fjord is a long, narrow inlet from the sea with steep sides or cliffs, created by glacial erosion during the ice ages. We will then make a photo-stop at Steinsdalsfossen, which has a fall of 50m and is special because you can walk safe and dry behind it. The fall occured in 1699 when the river changed course and there is a footpath from to and under the waterfall. We will then pass by the Hardanger Bridge and make a stop at Voringfossen, the 83rd highest waterfall in Norway for a photo before continuing to GOL for the the night.

DAY 8

GOL - OSLO - OVERNIGHT CRUISE (Breakfast, Dinner)

Make our way to Oslo, capital of Norway and begin your exploration of the city by visiting the City Hall that is covered with a rainbow of motifs depicting the Norwegian history, culture and lifestyle, as well as the neo-classical structure of the Royal Palace. Last but not least, the Vigeland Sculpture Park is one attraction worth seeing, the life’s work of scelptor Gustav Vigeland that features more than 200 life-sized sculptures in bronze, granite and cast iron. After which, we will take an overnight cruise to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.

DAY 9

OVERNIGHT CRUISE - COPENHAGEN (Breakfast, Dinner)

Arrive the lovely city of Copenhagen and go on a city tour and take in the sights of the famous amusement park Tivoli Gardens, the City Hall Square, Hans Christian Andersen Statue, and Christiansborg Palace. Stop by The Little Mermaid sculpture, which was inspired from the fairytale and the mystical Gefion Fountain. If traffic conditions are fair, we will make an additional pit stop at Nyhavn for some picturesque photos.

DAY 10

COPENHAGEN - HOME (Breakfast)

Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure till it is the time to transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Our tour manager, Xiao Loh is very competent and professional. Even before the commencement of the trip, he took the trouble and effort to inform us of the weather conditions there and to remind us to bring more warm clothings. He is also a very caring and thoughtful person. Knowing that there are two tour members' birthday fall in Oct , he organizes a small birthday celebration dinner for us. With his years of experience and knowledge in this industry, he provided good advices along the trip. It makes us feel comfortable and at ease throughout our journey. His time management and coordination with the local guides and driver was great. We truly enjoyed the scenic and historical places. Tour: 11D8D Scenic Scandinavia Departure date:09-19 October 2019 Tour Manager:Steve Loh (小罗） Overall we enjoyed the trip, the itinerary was well planned and the scenery were spectacular, there was never a bored moments. The local tour guides were very professional and patient in their explanation and driver was very responsible and punctual in picking us up from our hotels and in ensuring our personal belongings were locked up safely in the bus. Our tour manager Steve was very kind and helpful... even before departure keep updating us on the temperature in scandi and reminding us to bring enough clothing to keep warmth. During the journey he even took extra steps to explained in english and mandarin to ensure that we understand and to beware of pickpocket during sightseeing. In addition it was sweet of him to treat us to a Chinese dinner and also to celebrate two of our tour mates' birthday and also help us to do the tax rebates at the airport. Hence two thumb up for EU. I was very pleased with their services and would surely join EU again and recommend it to my friends..

Thanks Simmon Lee for the spectacular 11 day 8 night scandinavia tour (departed sg on 6 sep). Without Simmon keen and meticulous arrangement, the trip wouldn't be so enjoyable. He even went beyond his duties to provide WiFi onboard. Exceptional service by Simmon! Highly reccommend the itinerary. But some suggestions for EU holiday for improvement. The dinner at quality hotel in Sweden only had a single choice for main course which was an issue for some who doesn't take chicken. It will be better if lounge access (which was complimentary in SG) is provided in Sweden as well bcos we arrived in airport quite early. lastly, if EU holiday can provide WiFi onboard will be a bonus! 11D8N Scenic Scandinavia 20-30Jun19, led by Alyce Shieh. My recent trip has been a very enjoyable and i like the attractions that were arranged in the itinerary, which consisted of different aspects including visiting UNESCO sites, palaces, scenic fjords, magnificent waterfalls, mountains and main attractions in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Our tour manager, Alyce Shieh provide us with information relating places we visit...she is very candid and made sure we ate well and settled down during meals time and rest well despite jet lag for some people, she share her personal tips to overcome jetlag! She took the initiative, out of her own pocket, to buy individual packed delicious “bak Gua” and biscuits from Singapore for our tour group to temporary cure homesickness. During the trip, my finger nails cracked due to dry weather, Alyce sent nail clipper to my hotel room, very sweet of her! She made sure logistics are well arranged with the local driver and other stakeholders, ensure smooth schedule to fully cover planned itineraries. All these collective efforts and nice gestures are appreciated! Alyce is sincere, responsible, knowledge and understanding. She provide very good advice, be it meals, shopping (local popular brand’s here In Scandinavia), our safety etc. She is very jovial, positive and full of energy that made the journey enjoyable. Scenic Scandinavia 20 - 30 Jun 2019 led by Alyce Shieh. The places are very beautiful and mesmerising especially Norway’s spectacular fjords, glaciers and waterfalls and mountains. When the water is still, the mirror image is so amazing that you can really tell at one instance which side is real and virtual. We usually wooing to wake the rest in the coach not to miss the chance to admire great scenery. I made a few great friends with similar interest in this trip. Alyce is a steady and cautious tour leader to ensure the trip is smooth and in time. She mingled with the groups well and share her travelling experiences. Though i kept complaining the photo stops is too little and short but i must respect the tight schedule and Alyce and driver required adequate rest and tight traffic rules. All these made a lasting impressions on me. Keep it up! EU and Alyce! Please continue to bring us good trip at affordable price!!!!

Our tour manager, Maybelle Phua, was experienced and well-read, and did a wonderful job of introducing us to the history of the various places we visited. Fun-loving and caring, our group indeed felt blessed to have her as our tour manager. Our Coach Captain, Margos, was also a very experienced driver and extremely professional, skipping lunch just to ensure he'd be alert when he knew he'd be driving us through a steep mountain road that afternoon! The hotels were decent (even those on the mountainous regions, though basic in amenities, were very clean and well maintained), and itinerary was really good! The prices were also reasonable :) We'd definitely consider travelling with EU Holidays again
