DAY
This morning, head to Mittenwald and
prepare to be mesmerised by idyllic
scenes of charming cobbled streets,
majestic mountain landscapes and the
art of crafting classical instruments.
Walk through the charming Old Town,
where a babbling brook runs through
its centre, and admire the beautifully
painted façades of the houses on the
main street, Obermarkt. Arrive at the
main square and see the iconic,
14th-century Church of St. Peter and
Paul. You might even get to hear the
bells which ring throughout the town
on the hour. After lunch, drive to view
the exterior of Neuschwanstein Castle,
one of the most popular palaces and
castles in Europe. Built as a place of
retreat for the King Ludwig II,
Neuschwanstein was transformed into
a medieval dream world filled with all
of his longing and ideals. At the end of
the day, move along to the Black Forest
region to rest for the night.
After breakfast, attend a cuckoo clock
making demonstration in
Titisee-Neustadt before enjoying some
free time strolling along Lake Titisee,
while you admire the gorgeous scenery
overlooking the sparkling waters. Next,
travel to Stuttgart, capital of the state of
Baden-Wurttemberg, for an orientation
tour of the city, which comprises views
of the ‘Old Castle’ from around the 950s
and the ‘New Castle’ built between 1746
and 1807, Schillerplatz and Stuttgart
National Theatre.
Proceed to Rothenburg ob der Tauber,
a German town in northern Bavaria
that is known for its medieval
architecture. Half-timbered houses line
the narrow cobbled lanes of the Old
Town, and the surrounding town walls boast well-preserved gate houses and
towers, with a covered walkway at the
top. The St. James Church is home to
an intricate, late Gothic altarpiece by
woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider,
while the Town Hall’s 52-metre-high
tower affords visitors with spectacular
views. Our next stop is Würzburg, a
beautiful hilly location smack in the
middle of one of Germany’s largest
wine producing regions. In addition to
excellent white wine and restaurants,
visitors will also discover a wide array of
historic art and architecture spanning
the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance,
Baroque and Rococo periods. Retire for
the night in Würzburg.
Make your way to Nördlingen, whose
Old Town is encircled by well-preserved
medieval walls with towers and covered
parapet paths. Next, visit Dinkelsbühl, a historic town in Central Franconia, a
region of Germany that is now part of
the state of Bavaria. Lastly, head back
to Wurzburg to rest for the night.
Journey on to Frankfurt, the financial
hub of Germany, where you’ll embark
on a city tour that covers important
sights such as the Cathedral of St.
Bartholomew, St. Paul’s Church, Old
Opera House and the Römer.
Today, we shall undergo the requisite
PCR tests together as a group before
our flight back to Singapore. After
which, you may wish to spend the rest
of the day exploring at leisure or seize
your chance to do some last-minute
shopping by joining an optional tour to
Wertheim Village.
Optional: Wertheim Village Outlet
Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure till it
is time to transfer to the airport for your
flight home.

Had a great time on their 1st VTL group tour to Germany. They did a fantastic job adjusting to the new norms of travel. Their preparations for all eventualities were impressive. Hotels were great & top class. We enjoyed many German speciality dishes. Our memorable trip was made possible by the very professional tour manager, Gary Teo. His wealth of tour experience & knowledge meant there were no hiccups on the trip. He was always on the lookout for our safety, comfort & wellbeing. Eg, he did a takeaway dinner for me when I did not join in the scheduled group dinner as jetlag got to me. I was pleasantly surprised & touched. His quick wit & interesting commentary livens our coach journeys. In my 30 years of travel have not met a better tour manager than Gary. Kudos to EU for having such a loyal, hardworking exemplary staff. Thanks again for the lovely memories.
