Begin the day with a Reykjavik city tour with the local tour guide, starting at Perlan, an impressive glass building supported by six large water tanks. Explore Höfði House and the unique design of Hallgrímskirkja Church, featuring a Lutheran parish tower and the Leifur Eiriksson statue. Continue to an Icelandic Horse Stable for a distinctive horse-riding encounter amidst scenic surroundings. Later, head to South Iceland, check in to accommodation, and unwind after the day's journey.
Note: Due to limited accommodations available at South Iceland so as to preserve the natural landscape, we may stay at either Hella or Hveragerdi depending on availability.
Today, head to Iceland's renowned destination, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Embark on an Amphibian Boat for a scenic sail amid massive icebergs in this picturesque setting. This natural wonder provides an awe-inspiring experience, making you feel transported to a magical world surrounded by floating icebergs, and you might spot some seals! Afterwards, visit the Diamond Beach, named for the ice fragments along the shoreline.
Note: If there's an excess of icebergs, the boat tour might be canceled abruptly. We will substitute this activity with alternative options if necessary.
This morning, journey from volcanic beaches to stunning glaciers and remarkable rock formations. Reach Reynisfjara Beach's black sandy shores to witness nature's marvel through pyramid-shaped black basalt columns. Proceed to Skogafoss Waterfall, among the country's largest, often displaying vivid rainbows in the spray on sunny days. Continue the scenic drive, stopping at the distinctive Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, cascading from a 60-meter cliff, showcasing Iceland's natural beauty.
Explore Iceland's renowned Golden Circle Tour, uncovering stunning landscapes and historic landmarks. Begin at Thingvellir National Park, known for its historical and geological significance. Visit the popular Gullfoss waterfall, with a chance to witness a picturesque rainbow over the cascading waters. Then, explore the nearby geothermal area bustling with hot springs, including the active Strokkur Geyser, erupting water 30 meters high every 15 minutes.
Catch an early morning flight to Ilulissat, Greenland's third-largest town. Upon arrival, join a guided walk through the Old Settlement, observing structures from the initial Danish settlement. The remainder of the day can be spent enjoying the breathtaking views of the iceberg-filled ocean and exploring this charming city.
After breakfast, take a guided walk to the deserted settlement, Sermermiut, witnessing relics and
artifacts dating back 4,000 years, gaining insights into Inuit customs pre-European colonization. Enjoy a leisurely day following the tour. In the evening, embark on a unique Midnight Sun Sailing Cruise in Disko Bay among stunning icebergs. Experience the captivating sight as the midnight sun blurs the line between night and day, transforming the icebergs' colors from white and blue to hues of orange and red.
Today, you'll embark on a sailing trip to witness massive ice chunks dramatically breaking away from the Eqip Sermia Glacier with thunderous sounds. The boat will navigate through ice-filled waters, aiming to get as near as safe to the glacier's icy front. The most captivating moment for many is observing the icebergs collide and plunge into the ocean.
