Upon arrival, start your journey at
Hakodate Tropical Botanical
Garden, a popular attraction
where you can see the
Hot-Tubbing Snow Monkeys and
the green house, which is the
main exhibit. After that, proceed
to Hakodate Meijikan, this stately
red-brick building was built as
Hakodate Post Office in 1911 and
is now used as a shopping mall.
This evening, head up to Mt.
Hakodate via cable car to the top
of the mountain to enjoy a
panoramic city view.
* In case of maintenance or bad weather,
the bus will be used to go up the mountain
instead.
Begin your day with a visit to
Hakodate Morning Market
where you can find a variety of
delectable fresh Hakodate
produce. After that, head over to
Fort Goryokaku, a massive,
star-shaped Western style citadel
built to defend Hokkaido from
invasion. Then access the
observation deck Goryokaku
Tower for a bird's-eye view of the
huge fortress. Continue, we will
proceed to Ōnuma
Quasi-National Park, one of the
most beautiful and breath-taking
parks. Next, board the Mt Usu
Ropeway (cable car) leading
close to the top of Mount Usu.
The upper station's observation
deck offers panoramic views of
Lake Toya and Showa Shinzan
while the second offer views of
the ocean and Mount Usu's
largest crater.
Today, spend half of the day at
leisure in the Ski Resort. You can
choose to enjoy some ski
adventure equipment rental
excluded and/or take part in
other activities in the resort. After
your fun adventures, move over
to Otaru Canal where there are
many shops selling musical boxes, crystal and glassware that
mirror the romantic atmosphere
of this enchanting town. Don't
forget to visit the Kitaichi Glass
Shop and enjoy the music box
DIY experience at Music Box
Museum.
This morning, head over to Ishiya
Chocolate Factory, also known as
“White Lover Chocolate” Factory.
Here, you can see how the white
chocolate products are being
produced in this European style
building. After sightseeing, enjoy
a local meal at Asahikawa
Ramen Village which offers 8 of
Asahikawa's most well-known
ramen shops in one location.
After lunch, proceed to
Asahiyama Zoo that features
enclosures that allow visitors to
observe the animals from various
angles, many of which are
unique to the zoo. During winter,
you may get to see a penguin
parade show! Continue, move to
Hokkaido’s largest Daisetsuzan
National Park for its unspoiled
wilderness and beautiful fall
colours and snow. Proceed
further to Ginga Waterfalls, aka
‘wife and husband waterfalls’.
Ginga runs down the cliff wall in
a thin, delicate white thread,
while the Ryusei flows down in a
thick, powerful cascade.
After breakfast, proceed to
Sapporo Beer Factory to learn
how the beer is being produced
and get to taste their fresh local
beer on the spot. After that, pay a
visit to Hokkaido Shrine, a
traditional place of worship for
the Japanese “Shindo” and the
oldest shrine in Hokkaido. This is
also the best location to enjoy the
scenery for all four seasons. After
your succulent meal, continue to
Mt. Okura Olympic Jump
Stadium. The 90 meter ski jump
competitions of the Winter
Olympics 1972. Nowadays, the
Okurayama Observatory at the
top of the hill can be accessed via
a chair lift for spectacular views of
Sapporo. Followed by Tanukikoji
Shopping Arcade. This shopping
arcade is in operation since the
frontier period and it's also a
great place to buy some
souvenirs!
Today, begin your day with a visit
to Noboribetsu Date Jidaimura, a
village theme park where they
have a collection of Edo period
culture and you'll get a chance to
try out Japanese archery. Then,
head over to Jigokudani (Hell
Valley), which features hot steam
vents, sulphurous streams, and
other volcanic activities. After that,
enjoy a last minute shopping at
Mitsui Outlet Sapporo before
transfer to airport.Bid farewell to
this beautiful country as you
transfer to the airport for your
flight home.
