Assemble at the airport and take-off to Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, bisected by the Dnieper River and known for its religious architecture, secular monuments and history museums.
Take on a city tour to St. Sophia Cathedral and Monastery Complex, a real pearl of the world architecture. Inside, you will view the largest frescoes and mosaics collection in the world. Further on you will move to St. Andrew’s Church, the Ukrainian Baroque church designed in 1754 by the Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. You will also see The Golden Gates of Kiev that is a major landmark of the Ancient Kiev and historic gateway in the ancient city fortress, located in the capital of Ukraine and currently serves as a museum. In the afternoon, tour around Podil District, the oldest district of Kyiv.
Tour to Mezhyhirya Residence - the former residence of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych, which is a huge and luxury complex and park. With a guide we will go inside Honka club house (big wooden cottage), will visit "Galleon" barge restaurant, private zoo, canine centre, undeground sport complex, golf club, helipad, lots of monuments and nice pavilions and gardens. After which, tour to the golden-domed Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Monastery, the most famous sightseeing object in Kiev, which has been included in UNESCO World Heritage Register
Tour to Ukrainian Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life in Pirogovo. Spread out over scenic rolling hills dotted with groves of trees are a large number of quaint 17th to 20th century wooden cottages, churches, farmsteads and windmills, many of them with manufactured flower and vegetable gardens and interiors furnished with fascinated old textiles, traditional furniture and tools. The museum is divided into seven small villages representing the different regional areas.
Today, we depart to Odessa, a port city on the Black Sea in southern Ukraine. On the way we visit Strategic Missile Force Museum. During the tour we take an underground corridor to the massive doors which lead to a self contained silo-based 12-storey Command Post which could function sealed from the outside world for 45 days. Sit in the Command seat and experience what Soviet officers could feel during the Cold War and being in charge of nine missiles SS-22.
Taking on a orientation city tour, to the Prymorski Boulevard and legendary Potemkin Staircase leading to the sea, the famous Opera and Ballet Theater, Troyitska and St. Paul Churches and the Art Museum. Then we will tour "The Mysteries of the Odessa Catacombs" as Odessa was built on the coquina stones that had been mined out of the ground. That is why the long labyrinths spread under the city. You will visit sellers of the guerrillas’ warriors, who kept fighting the Nazi in the war hinterland. Please, take some warm clothes to the underground tour, since the temperature there is not going higher than 10-12 C.
Today, take on a tour to the Shabo winery at the "Shabo" Wine Culture Center. An Ancient sherry cellar, in which a unique wine, called dry sherry, “gets old” in oak casks; Unusual museum labyrinth with its ancient myths about wine; Dionis Fountain – a symbol of Shabo that allows to face a miracle of wine producing; In afternoon, we head to Belgorod-Dnestrovskyi Fortress. During the tour we'll visit the most famous of all the defenders of the stronghold of the city, very old and well-preserved, washed by the waters of the estuary and has a beautiful view over the city. Tonight, we will take an overnight train to Lviv, a city in western Ukraine, around 70m from the border with Poland.
In the morning we arrive to Lviv, explore the city’s historic center of fantastically eclectic city, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. You will stroll down Lviv’s main avenues, squares, narrow cobbled streets. The city tour starts at the Opera House, then you will walk down Svoboda Avenue, which is laid out above the enclosed underground Poltva River. You will see the oldest and most gorgeous churches and cathedrals in the Old Town including Baroque style Jesuit Cathedral, the Virgin Mary’s Assumption church, the Armenian Cathedral with 16- 17th century tombstones.
Today, tour the Lviv Castles, including Olesko Castle (the 13th – 18th centuries), Pidhirtsi Castle (15th - 16thcenturies), and the Zolochiv Castle (15th century). The most popular tourist itinerary is one, which leads to Olesko, Zolochiv and Pidhirtsithese small villages are famous for their age-old majestic castles. And within some kilometers there is one more castle, quite not like the previous. It's alike a fairy-tale palace with the slender towers, shining versatile mosaic tile and playful decoration. Then we will take a train back to Kyiv for the night.
Enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure till it is time to transfer to the airport for your flight home.
